QPR UI contains two types of workspaces, one Public Workspace and multiple Private Workspaces. There is only one Public Workspace in the system, whereas there is a private workspace for each user.

The Public Workspace contains all the views that have been published. All users are able to see the list of published views in the Public Workspace screen. Views can be published from a user's Private Workspace by the user, and unpublished to move views back to the user's Private Workspace. Views need to be locked so that they can be published. Any administrator role user can unpublish a view to his/her Private Workspace, event if the view was originally published by other user.

The Private Workspaces contain each user's private views and the user's bookmarks. Currently bookmarks cannot be published.

Bookmarks

With QPR UI bookmarks, you can take a snapshot of the currently open view, storing the session context variables. Note that UI element scope variables are not stored to bookmarks. The created bookmark contains variable values that are needed to reopen the view in the same situation as it was, when the bookmark was created. A created bookmark is placed in the user's Private Workspace. Currently it's not possible to publish bookmarks, i.e. to move them to Public Workspace.

When clicked, a bookmark opens the referred view and sets the session context. When editing a bookmarked view, the bookmarks refering to the view are not changed.

Bookmarks can be edited and deleted in the user's Private Workspace screen. When editing bookmark, the bookmark name and the context variable values can be changed.

Opening Workspace Screen

To open the workspace screen, in your web browser, enter the URL http(s)://<your host here>/ui/#/home/. You can achieve the same in the QPR UI Folders screen by replacing workspace with home in the browser url, and clicking Enter.

Note that the Workspace screen will be phased out some time in the future, and you should use QPR UI Folders instead.
